Spotlight On Seniors is an ALCV philanthropic program started a year ago to bring musical entertainment to seniors in special care nursing facilities and day care centers in the Community.
The group is called HomeMade Jammers and offers a fun-filled variety show that features ukuleles, singers, hand puppets, sometimes kazoos and a little soft shoe. As one member said "I love watching the seniors. They are singing and their body movement is so responsive."
HomeMade Jammers participation has grown in its first year and meets each Monday to rehearse. Sometimes it is difficult to tell who is having more fun, the seniors or the HomeMade Jammers!
